From The Secret World Wiki
| Gear, in the Secret World, consists of talismans and weapons and is managed on the Gear Management tab of the character menu.
Talismans are items that increase attack rating, health, heal rating, or some combination of the three stats. Weapons, each with an individual set of abilities, can provide other gains with the careful use of prefix and suffix components. Weapons are the only gear items visible to other players. |  |
