Joel Bylos has confirmed that the Secret World programming is done with C/C++, actionscript, lua, and scry (in-house).[1]
[edit] Server architecture
Originally they had planned on one server but found this conflicted with the idea of persistent PvP. At the base it is still one server which is then split into several shards. The persistent PvP will take place individually by shard, the arena games will be cross-shard. They are still testing to see if they'll need to use separate U.S. and European servers.[2]
