An ARG is an alternate reality game, where the players interact with a fictional world via puzzles, character interaction or other methods of communication. The ARG for The Secret World began in 2007 with the event The Poem, which distributed a cryptic graphic depicting a piece of paper with a single poem scrawled upon it, accompanied by many other phrases in different languages hinting at what's to come.
